The FLASHPRO-E is a shredder for media that store data in chips or on optical discs. Cutting rollers reduce SSDs, USB sticks, phones and CDs/DVDs to particles of 4 × 15 mm, which fall into a 25-litre collection bin. Garner states that this meets security level E-3, a level from the system of ISO/IEC 21964 (formerly DIN 66399) for electronic data carriers.
The EMEA version runs on 230 or 240 V (set at the factory, on its own circuit) and produces 65 dB while shredding, so it can stand in a workshop or a separate room in an office building. Remove batteries from phones and casings from enterprise SSDs before shredding.
For a record of every shredded item, add IRONCLAD: it photographs the media before shredding and adds it to the certificate of destruction. Hard drives belong in a degausser and a destroyer.
